Recorded live and improvised on March 27, 2019 inside a nice room in a building in the Forks in Winnipeg, MB.

In the early months of 2019 trío telfær were approached by an imposing cowboy figure, he identified himself only as Tommy Smoke. He claimed to have been travelling for months with his noble steed "Old Gold." Searching for the right musical entity to tell his story when he finally found trío telfær. After a two month writing period in which Thomas Cigarette (which is what his mom called him) recounted his life story the band was ready to record what has become this album before you today, "The Ballad of Tommy Smoke"

Tommy Smoke is more than a man with a dynamic name, he's a man of substance, a man of sheer will and desire. "Pain don't hurt" is what Tommy would always say. And he should know, the man continued smoking a pack a day even after having both lungs removed. The man loved to smoke. He also loved to groove (as you will hear on track 3), he didn't stop grooving until March 26, 2019, the day he smoked has last smoke. R.I.P. Thomas "Tommy Smoke" Cigarette
